Some tips on ad job hunting / staying productive in a bad economy:

1) follow pitches: when an agency wins a new piece of business, they have to staff up.

2) do pro-bono work with agency people: Planning For Good on Facebook

3) focus on your own projects because:
a] they make you a more interesting candidate
b] you never know if they might take off
