…and a time for every annoying interstitial ad under heaven
Gotta say, I hate the new full-page interstitial that greets me instead of the front page of nytimes.com. It really gets my ire up.
Interstitials are annoying in general, sure, but it’s worse on this site in particular. Why does the intrusion bother me far more in this venue than it does in other places?
I guess see the NYTimes as keepers of the old school — the good side of the word “traditionalist.” In my head, the NY Times is a place that holds the reader experience sacrosanct, doesn’t pander or think I’m stupid, and thus isn’t so eager to garishly interrupt my reading experience for the sake of a few ad bucks.
I guess I’m wrong.

i like it, because it makes me not have to pay to read it.
