did you know this means “a tendency to extreme loquacity”, (i.e. talking too much)? of course you did. that’s how New Yorker critic Anthony Lane describes Jack Black’s character in Be Kind Rewind, in another good bad review.

    wow. that reviewer is a moron. a huge part of michel gondry’s appeal is his penchant for homemade things, and sticking with technology he used when he was a kid ( tapes, VHS, stuff like that). Many of his films and music videos are based on experiences he had has a child, and I really like the fact that his influences are based within the same era as mine - and I think that’s why a lot of people my age like him.

    I don’t think the movie would have been half as good if they had set it in the late 80’s, making the movies on the shelves current. I know it might not have been realistic, but if he wanted realism, he should watch the news, not a Michel Gondry movie.
