Now you know where’s George.

So, the other day, I reached into my pocket to pay for breakfast, and what do I see?

dollarbill

This handwritten message on the dollar bill was pretty intriguing. So, I logged on to the website and fed in all the details for the fun of it. And this is what came up…

While the bill looks all beat up, this tracking is only recent, I see (not even a month old). I bet this dollar bill has a more interesting story to tell. One that started a few years ago in a mint with about a hundred other friends, who got lost and haven’t found each other since… Oh, Hollywood storyline, you escape me.

So, now that we can find out where George is, anyone has an idea where the others, including Lincoln, Hamilton, or Franklin might be? Hmmm, I smell domain name registrations.

I actually came across one of these four or five years ago… maybe they clear and start over every few months, but that would be far less interesting than if they had kept it up since the early 2000s. I wonder if this is a different or copycat site? Cool idea though, I remember screaming in excitement when I first saw it.

Well, it looks like the website has been around for a while - they officially went ‘live’ on December 23, 1998. It hasn’t gained too much traction though, since the Top 10 list doesn’t have too much activity anways. It’s a great idea. Now we just need a few more people to rally behind it.
