Who would have ever thought? After finishing that box of your most favorite cereal, don’t toss it. No way! That thing should be shown off. Eco friendly fashion? Could this be the next little trend to pop off in the Bay Area? Young high schoolers showing off their personality via their cereal box backpack. Looks like fashion kicked functions butt in this battle. Backpacks have been pretty popular out there, as if they were a pair of Air Jordans. Yes backpacks. I was leading a focus group a couple of months ago, and when I asked the group who they would like to see a fashion company do a collaboration with, one of the boys said “Burger King”. This reminds me of his Burger King remark.

The craziest trends come out of the Bay Area. ‘Ghostriding the whip’ is probably the latest and most commonly known trend from the Bay Area to have touched the world. There’s something special about this place, and I think it has a lot to do with its “constantly act like an 18 year old, don’t give a fuck, act retarded, get stupid” mentality that everyone seems to live by. And when you live by it, there’s a very high chance that the things you create might reflect that. I have no clue how this will take off or even if it will last, but it’s still pretty funny. Oh yeah, can’t forget about the craze coming out of Silicon Valley, the Bay Area’s neighbor. Again, there’s something special about this place.
