August Aggregated
Happy September, guys! I did the aggregator roundup for August all at once this time, because towards the middle of the month I was so busy that I was barely able to breathe, let alone read blogs. Lots of interesting stuff though, so read on
Changing surroundings: Taftcard’s Mexican place became a Korean place and Jerry’s closes.
Facebook was huge for us last month. Noah (who travels incognito apparently) shifted his obsession from the iPhone (although not too far from it) to Facebook. He del.icio.uses the secret rate card, this WIRED article and this MSNBC one about its evolution; he also writes a blog entry and gets other people talking about and del.icio.us’ing it too. Here are two more del.icio.us links. We are not the only ones to notice, either: a web developer from South Africa uses Noah as inpiration to jot his own thoughts down.
Oh woops, nope, I spoke too soon. Oh wait maybe not! Who am I kidding. Noah is clearly in denial here. Yep.
I had the ridiculous idea of eating only one color on each day for a week. It was meant to be a photography project and was - to say the least - an interesting experience.
Satish has two of his Flickr photos (which came up in our aggregator) placed in Gothamist!

I lament over “that frat guy” standing in front of me at Blonde Redhead, and both Taftcard and Joe assure me that it was not an isolated experience.
Always soaking ourselves with culture, we went to PS1, Lollapalooza, the Daft Punk /Rapture show (ahem) that has been called one of the best of the year, the American Museum of Natural History, live circuit bending performances and Electric Picnic in Ireland.
Creepy science things are happening. Three of us del.icio.us’ed this article about the possibility that we live in someone else’s videogame, and Amber del.icio.uses an article about erasing memories.
sigh.
We get written about in Adweek (hooray).
A few of us discuss the benefits of getting a Naked helicopter.
Noah tries to bring back “Huzzah!” and neither MT nor Leila approve. I don’t either.
We get iWork, and are already touting its glories.
Everyone is still going mad for getting a laser cutter. It might even start creeping into our work.
The massive transit problem early in the month had a lot of us hating life and bonding with others that were in the same situation. We try to think of creative ways to make it to work (There we go with the helicopter again. And the laser cutter. And even an ark.).
In addition to a laser cutter and helicopter, we decide that we also need a hot tub (after seeing one lifted onto the roof across the street).
We died a little bit over Miss Teen South Carolina and her little map spiel.
Perhaps the most insane thing for us in August was Heron appearing on a Times Square billboard. I don’t think it surprises us for some reason, though!
Noah becomes a synaesthete, which makes me very happy.
The final aggregated item fits very well with the final day of the month.
There you have it! I want to close with something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. This weekend marked my one year anniversary of being with Naked. People might be sick of hearing about it by now, but I’m so happy. It’s Leila’s, too (we started a few days apart). Happy Nakedversary once again, Lei!
Tell Noah I’m going on the record as Pro-Huzzah!
Thank you MHB. I appreciate that.
Take that Johanna, Leila and MT. Huzzah!
@johanna: i love these monthly re-caps of yours! you are wonderful.
@noah: pipe down!
