July aggregated, part 2
It’s time for the second half of July through the eyes of the aggregator. It crept up on me and now I’m a week late; all apologies.
The last half of July was full of traveling:
- Pak likes his Lady Pilot,
- Paul hates packing,
- Joe goes to Santa Barbara
- and MT goes to London. and Paris.
- While MT is in Paris, Joe and Noah’s peer pressure to get Naked NY a laser cutter continues.
- I went to Florida,
- Leila went to Mexico with Ben
- and Jansens returned from Thailand and Cambodia! [check out some of the photos on his Flickr, they’re wonderful]
We feel the effects of Harry Potter:
- Neal mysteriously predicts the outcome before the book’s release.
- One of the events was a block or two away from us; Scholastic closed Mercer Street and turned it into a veritable Harry Potter land. Jared reports.
- Noah feels schadenfreude that the book’s release is getting more press than the iPhone (and still more schadenfreude, but this time just about the iPhone)
- Satish saves a link about the book setting a new publishing record.
Amber has an 80s attack:
- She Twitters about Jem,
- saves a link about Jem
- and saves a link about a soap opera actor who died (it was popular in the 80s, among several other decades for some reason).
Likemind turns one:
- Noah posts the original email conversation that started it.
- A birthday party is thrown at our New York office, which ends up being very successful. Here are some photos from the party, taken by Heron.
- I see an eight year-old with an iPhone at the party and am convinced she was planted there just to annoy Noah.
We say goodbye to our darling Meghann:
We would have fallen apart had she not been around. She’s leaving for Singapore very soon, and we’re going to miss her dearly. We had a lovely and tearful goodbye lunch, complete with presents and sangria. Please come back and visit us, Meghann!
Everyone at the office attacks Noah about his breakfast burrito, and he tries in vain to find acceptance in a public forum.
We switched seats, as is our every-few-months wont. We had to be a little creative this time around because of how quickly we’ve been growing (welcome to Jess, Jared, Daniela, Amber and Andrew! EDIT - and Amy and Ahra! eek!).
Satish, Thomas, Michelle, Alex and I went to July’s LVHRD event, PHTHRD (a photography duel). We got to meet Richie Rich, hang out with a bunch of Happy guys (and others), watch outrageous photo shoots (and be in them), drink free Dewar’s and take in the energy of what was happening around us.
A few of us went to the first Street Mining in SoHo. And took photos. I heard it was a huge success and will be sure to not be in Florida for the next one.
Chef Leila makes omelets for the entire office and it leaves everyone in high spirits.
In conclusion: Noah needs to buy an iPhone already.
See you in two weeks! Well, one really. That was my fault. I really started writing this this morning, but then I had a war with Wordpress, we made up, I waved the white flag and then had an existential crisis when Noah informed me (in the nicest way possible, ie “We have to have a talk about your html”) that I have been coding wrong for the past ten years. At least it’s not my fault that opening and closing a list turns cute bullet points into squares.

How bout ahra and I??? we are new too!!
